This movie was surprisingly amazing. Most movies that I've seen from older eras tend to have elements to them that just don't quite hold up. This movie however, held up remarkably well. It was insanely funny, fast paced, and intelligent. For being a comedy, what I felt held up best was how well-written the comedy was and how well acted the film as a whole was. This begs the question of what specific elements allow a film to hold up to the test of time. I believe a possible conclusion can be drawn from this film's strongest elements. A strong screenplay mixed with strong acting to bring the pages to life are what seem to do it in my experience.
