This film is one that I always forget just how dark it gets as far as content is concerned. Right off the bat I'll say that I love this movie. I feel like everything from the writing, to the cinematography, to the sound design is just amazingly well done. One of the things I feel this movie does best is make you look back at where you came from. I don't mean this in a metaphysical sense though, I mean looking back at the journey that the story has taken you on. There are several moments throughout the film that touch back on elements that you've seen earlier. Oftentimes this expands upon what you've seen and adds more weight to dialogue or earlier scenes. This is a sign of brilliant writing in that nothing was wasted and everything had a point. I love those moments where your jaw drops as a realization hits you and suddenly things are made more clear. This film is chock full of them, and it makes it all the better for it.
