It's been some time since I've made a post, but I'll excuse that with plenty of work and school. I capitalized on an opportunity today however that I couldn't help but write a post about. Today I got to be part of a relatively small (~50 person) talk with director/producer Shawn Levy. For those unfamiliar with Levy's work, this is the director behind movies such as Big Fat Liar, Real Steel, Night at the Museum, etc. and the producer behind properties such as Arrival and Stranger Things. He is a big name in the industry and has another movie coming up, Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds in the lead. He spoke about his time in film school, his inspirations, how he got to where he is, and so much more. It was great to hear from someone who made movies that were a big part of my childhood, and especially to have him be someone who seemed so genuine. It was great and exceedingly worthwhile to hear from someone so distinguished in the industry and be able to thank him for his work.
